So, it’s been about a week since I have been using Calorie King to change my eating habits and lose weight. As you guys read on the last post, I had a HUGE revelation on what I was actually putting into my body. Although the amount of calories I was taking in was low, the amount of fat I was eating was WAY TOO HIGH, and the amount of protein I was eating was WAY TOO LOW. No wonder my weight loss journey has been a bust!! So here are some of the changes I have made…

Great blog Tula! Yes, mustard does the trick and it’s one of those condiments that doesn’t cost you if your are counting calories.
At the suggestion of Tula, I started counting calories last week and it’s made a big difference in the amount of weight that’s coming off. I’m also finding (interestingly enough) that counting calories throughout the day helps keep my mind of of eating.
For me, eating is addictive… a force of habit… so focusing on a plan (calorie counting) is keeping my mind off of the eating aspect and more on the planning.

That’s really interesting that you bring that up. I have noticed the same now that I have started calorie and fat counting. I notice myself saying “if I eat this now, what won’t I be able to eat later?” and “how is this going to affect my counts?” and “is this really putting any nutrition in my body?” Funny how having it all laid out in front of you really makes you think! Thanks again for the mustard suggestion!! It’s really made a difference, too!

Good Job TULA! Thanks for forwarding this post. I am motivated…problem for me isn’t knowing what is healthy and how to cut calories/fat etc…it’s just haven’t the mindset to actually do it. I am changing that mindset. I have been on a “healthy eating” program for the past two days plus this morning
I have trouble every winter and try to change things around by Spring. I think I like to hibernate. I must have been a bear in my previous life. LOL! Good job with your progress, I will keep you posted on how I’m doing…

Thanks, Charna! Hopefully this will give you some ideas. Writing everything down really opened my eyes to what’s healthy and what’s not. Doing that has also given me good ideas on what will be healthier choices when eating out. And if I want to splurge on a favorite food, then I just cut down the fat on other meals for the day. I don’t feel deprived at all and I’m losing weight!
