I spent this evening watching the recording of the Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial.
All the stars were there, of course. Speeches were made and songs were sung.
Everything said was filled with hope. Hope for a better future.
The part that struck me the most was towards the end….

Thank You Tula,
For bringing back what means so much to so many. Like you, I had not heard this song since I was a child, and it actually gave me goosebumps to hear it again.

Hi Tula, this in an excellent post. I really like the way this article flows and was constructed… and it can never hurt to have Bruce Springsteen on stage either!

Tula,
I think that youo have touched the energy that all ~at least many of us are feeling.
The chance that we might re-right ourselves and take PERSONAL hold of the outcome of our country’s issues is refreshing to say the least.
I think that PRESIDENT Obama and his staff have more than a plate worth of troubles in front of them. But with the help of the American people as individuals investing in their own futures….
I think it’s a fresh start and might potentially bring this country together (for once)
I wish him all the luck and love we can muster-
all the support and assistance and good advice and input from the American people that we can offer…..
Tula- You have written and placed together a wonderful website- keep up the wonderful work ….you are such a talented writer and Patriot…….
I hope the sentiment is contageous!
Blessings ~v~

Kate, thank you for your compliment. I appreciate that.
I was discussing with a friend that I think what President Obama will really bring to office is inspiration. As the great orator that he is, I think if anything his words will motivate people do to better, be stronger and reach within themselves. Ultimately, I think that will really be what he accomplishes in office… the rest will be done by the American People through his inspiration.

Hello Tula,
This is such a great tribute you’ve given. A real memory of what this land and our people are all about! As we watched the Presidential Inaugural this morning, we couldn’t help but remember that just 184 years ago in 1865 – Lincoln made this a land of freedom for all.
Freedom to choose, to live and to work and believe how we wanted to. To educate our children, to rise high in our endeavors and to accept all people as our own and equal in rights, beliefs and ability.
To be American and to know that this is our land, we should all be grateful for our many blessings and support each other in our endeavors to make our America and it’s people the best we all can be!
We are a people of pride, dignity and reverance; respectful, caring, giving and sharing of our great blessings! Let us not forget the sacrifice of those before us and this great land.
Thank you for your patriotism and reminding all of us that we as Americans still hold the key to making this land a better place for all to live and work in. It is not as just one person would have it be …it is up to ALL of us striving, sacrificing and contributing together as one.
“America the Beautiful” …yes, this is our land! God has and will continue to bless all of us and God Bless You Tula!

Wow Tula, it does bring back memories! And like you I don’t remember ever hearing all of those verses. There were a couple in there that really stood out for me.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You always have such great blogs!
